This event allows us to understand and commemorate the history and legacy of the residential school system. We will honour the resilience, dignity and strength of survivors and intergenerational survivors and remember the children who never came home. It’s a chance to engage and educate us, the newcomers from Hong Kong, about the BC and Canadian colonial history and how it has and continues to impact Indigenous communities. The event will commence at 1pm. The plan is to have lunch at Wo Fung Noodle House (車仔麵) from 11:30am to 12:30pm, and then walk ourselves to Richmond Cultural Centre. It would be a great idea to wear something orange, if you have. Why orange? Check this out: https://www.savethechildren.ca/every-child-matters-the-origin-of-orange-shirt-day/
