街坊會喺8月帶大家挑戰人氣行山路線 Saint Mark’s Summit。由 Cypress Mountain 出發,穿越森林小徑沿住山脊慢慢攀升。登上觀景台就可以飽覽 Howe Sound 藍色海灣、群山同島嶼交織嘅壯麗景色。嗰種「行到上嚟真係值得」嘅感覺,絕對唔輸俾世界盃決賽入波一刻!8月9日一齊離開螢幕,走入山林用雙腳延續夏天嘅熱血!🍃⛰️⚽
a. 簡介及路線:
🥾 Saint Mark’s Summit 係 Howe Sound Crest Trail 嘅一部分。呢條步道全長超過30公里,由 Cypress Mountain 一直延伸至 Sea to Sky Highway 近 Porteau Cove 一帶。St. Mark’s Summit 所在嘅路段由 Cypress Mountain 出發,作為路線上第一座山;天氣晴朗時,可以欣賞到 Howe Sound 嘅壯麗景色。
由 Cypress Mountain 滑雪場嘅停車場出發,向北行去附近嘅吊椅纜車方向,尋找 Howe Sound Crest Trail 嘅指示牌。步道會沿住幾條滑雪道旁邊前行,直到見到一個指向右邊、標示 Howe Sound Crest Trail 嘅路牌。沿住呢條路向上行,直到佢接上一條較闊嘅滑雪道,然後向左行去一個大型綠色水塔方向。喺水塔前少少位置右轉入林間小徑,沿路上山。
行一小段之後會到達一條碎石路。喺碎石路向左行,行多一段路之後,道路會變窄並轉為山徑。呢度就正式進入 Howe Sound Crest Trail,沿住呢條路就可以到達 Saint Mark’s Summit。入林大約10分鐘後,會到達一個設有地圖嘅分岔路口。過咗地圖板之後有一片空地,可以遠望到 The Lions。之後繼續沿住山腰蜿蜒而上,慢慢攀升。
再之後會短暫進入一片小草地,並跨過兩條橋,然後繼續上山。幾分鐘後,山勢開始變得較陡,條路會以多個「之」字形(switchbacks)上升。之後路段會稍為平坦,沿住山脊頂部會有一小段下坡,喺炎熱天氣下可稍作喘息。不過輕鬆時間唔長,因為之後又會進入另一組更陡峭嘅「之」字形上坡路段。
當路段再次變得平緩,就代表已到達 Saint Mark’s Summit 嘅上方區域。繼續沿住崎嶇岩石地形行一小段,會到達一個可以遠望 Unnecessary Mountain 同 The Lions 嘅位置。天氣晴朗時,可以望到 Howe Sound、Tantalus Range,甚至遠處嘅 Gulf Islands 同 Vancouver Island。沿住短短嘅山脊仲有幾個值得一去嘅觀景位置,之後先開始回程返回 Cypress Mountain。
休息完、欣賞完壯麗景色同食過自己帶嚟嘅午餐之後,沿原路折返,經「之」字形下山路段返回 Mt. Strachan Meadows,最後回到 Cypress Mountain 停車場。

⏏️中途退出點: 我們是沿路回程,所以可隨時回程。若中途退出就不會到達Saint Mark’s Summit景點。

d. 注意事項/ 事前準備
- 足夠飲用水 約 2-2.5L
- 一些簡便小食及晏晝 (如Energy Bar 等)
- 自備袋食完小食及晏晝後帶走啲垃圾
- 防曬用品(包括帽,太陽油),蚊怕水,個人藥物等
- 公園內可能有野生動物例如郊狼(coyote)等出沒。
- 呢條行山徑不適合小朋友或狗。
- 如果落雨,請穿防雨(水)衣服和鞋。
- 注意山上比較涼,最好用洋蔥式穿法 (layering) 。
- 山路比較多泥濘及濕滑,可預備手杖。
