Celebrate the beauty of spring with us in this joyful outing at David Lam Park during the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival on March 28 (Saturday) [https://vcbf.ca/ and https://vcbf.ca/event/the-big-picnic-2026-2/].

Join us for a relaxing day under the cherry blossoms as we stroll through the park, enjoy the festive atmosphere, and connect with neighbors and friends. Surrounded by stunning waterfront views and blooming sakura, this gathering is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the season, build community spirit, and create meaningful memories together.

As part of the event, we’ll host a Cherry Blossom Photo Contest! Participants are invited to capture their favorite moments using their phones. Simply choose your best shot of the day, and we’ll transform it into an instant print on the spot — a special keepsake for you to take home (courtesy from our facilitator Michael).

From all the printed photos, we’ll select a “Best Shot of the Day” to celebrate the creativity and perspective of our community.

Bring your smile, your phone, and your love for spring — we look forward to celebrating the blossoms with you! 🌸📸

Itinerary:

We will meet at the Roundhouse Community Centre. After splitting into groups, you will be off with your group to go enjoy the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival as well as capturing the magical moments with your cell phones.

We will meet back at 12:15pm at the Roundhouse Community Centre and you will select your own “best shot” to get that transformed into an instant print. The “Best Shot of the Day” will be chosen by us together!

Feel free to hang out more or grab a bite together afterwards.
